Jammers Book Their Place In The Semi-Final

Women’s Match Report: Maldon & Tiptree 3–0 Frontiers
Sunday 8 March | Essex Women’s League Cup

Maldon & Tiptree Women booked their place in the semi-finals of the Essex Women’s League Cup with a convincing 3–0 victory over Frontiers on Sunday afternoon.

Despite the final scoreline, the two sides went into the break level after a competitive first half in which clear chances were limited. Both teams worked hard to gain control in midfield, but neither could find the breakthrough before the interval as the game remained finely poised at 0–0.

The Jammers began the second half with renewed purpose and took the lead nine minutes after the restart. Amy Yeldham broke the deadlock in the 54th minute, finishing well to give Maldon the advantage and shift the momentum firmly in the hosts’ favour.

Holly Moore With A Double!

Just five minutes later, the lead was doubled in spectacular fashion. Left wing-back Holly Moore produced a stunning volley from the edge of the box in the 59th minute, catching the ball perfectly to fire home and leave the Frontiers goalkeeper with no chance.

Buoyed by their two-goal advantage, Maldon continued to press forward and added a third in the 70th minute. Moore grabbed her second of the afternoon, once again arriving from her wing-back position to finish confidently and cap off an excellent individual performance.

With a three-goal cushion, the Jammers managed the remainder of the game well, remaining organised at the back while continuing to threaten on the counter.

The victory sees Maldon & Tiptree Women safely into the semi-finals of the Essex Women’s League Cup following a dominant second-half display.
