Waltham Abbey: Match Preview – 7 March 2026
Top of the league, Maldon and Tiptree face Waltham Abbey on Saturday 7 March in Maldon’s 32nd game of the season, fresh from last weeks 3-0 home win against Brightlingsea. The Jammers midweek trip to Gorleston was postponed after fog well in Gt Yarmouth, albeit the Jammers had already arrived in Norfolk.
Kevin Horlock’s side look to extend their lead at the top of the table, already point ahead of Felixstowe and a massive 13 goal difference to the side in 2nd. Waltham Abbey will be looking to strengthen their play-off chances with a win, as they currently sit in 3rd place in the league but come in today’s game following a 1-0 loss away to Cambridge City.
The Last Meeting
The last time the Jammers faced Waltham Abbey, the Jammers won in a 6-0 thriller with all 6 goals coming in the second half and Waltham Abbey getting 3 red cards in the game. This was the two sides second meeting of the season, having previously met in the Emirates FA Cup with the Jammers winning that contest also.
The Abbots Recent Form
Waltham Abbey come into this afternoon’s fixture in solid recent form, having picked up three wins from their last five matches in the Isthmian League Division One North. Victories over Grays Athletic (2–0), Gorleston (3–1) and Lowestoft Town (2–1) have helped keep the Abbotts firmly in the mix towards the top end of the table.
Their momentum was checked last weekend, however, when they were narrowly beaten 1–0 away at Cambridge City. A 1–1 draw with Brightlingsea Regent earlier in that run means today’s hosts have still taken ten points from their last five league outings heading into the visit of the Jammers.
One To WatchÂ
Ex Maldon & Tiptree forward, Kai Brown is definitely one to watch on Saturday with the front-man scoring an impressive 21 goals this season, joint 3rd in the league this season.  Matt Price will also feature for the Abbots, after leaving the Jammers earlier this season.

For the travelling fans, making the trip round the M25, they should allow an hour’s travel time. The Jammers mini bus is sold out and leaves the Drewitt-Barlow Stadium at 12:30 this afternoon.
