Jammers To Hit The Big Screen
ITV will air a new reality television series following the Maldon & Tiptree Football Club, titled “Up The Jammers”. The series will document the club’s recent journey, including its FA cup first round proper game, from initial discussions around acquiring a football club, through to ownership, recruitment, and the rapid progression both on and off the pitch.
Club CEO Barrie Drewitt-Barlow said:
“Well… the cat is officially out of the bag. What started out as a Christmas present for my partner and son, is now being captured for the whole country to see. This show reflects the real journey, all the ups, the challenges, the growth, and everything in between.”
The programme will provide behind-the-scenes access to the realities of running and transforming a non-league football club — from player recruitment and staff appointments, to the intensity of matchdays and dressing room moments.
Barrie added:
“From talking about potentially buying a club, to actually doing it, building the team, bringing in the right people, and pushing to the top of the league — it’s all there. Nothing has been hidden. You’ll see the decisions, the pressure, and the ambition that’s driving this club forward.”
The series will also highlight the club’s wider vision beyond football.
“This is about more than just what happens on the pitch. It’s about community, youth and education, ambition, and showing what can be built when people truly believe in something. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes — now people will see exactly what that looks like.”
Maldon & Tiptree FC currently sit at the top of the league, with the project gaining national attention as momentum continues to build.
“There’s a lot more to come. Watch what we have done in one season of ownership, nothing is impossible with the right backing behind it and the right people! What I love about this show that makes if so different is that we know nothing about football. We bring the football hype for all the men and women out there, that love football, but we also bring the reality part that their partners love, that are not really into football. This is a show you can watch at home with your partner, even if they hate football like many partners do. They will relate to a lot of whats happening as we try to navigate the complicated world of non league football.”
Richard Botchway, ITV Sport Assistant Commissioner, said: “We are excited to bring this special fly on the wall documentary series covering the highs and lows of football ownership to a free-to-air audience on ITV. The characters, high stakes and pressure of non-league football shine through. There is never a dull moment at Maldon and Tiptree Football Club.”
Antonia Hurford-Jones and Duncan Gray, Executive Producers of TwentySix03, said: “Barrie and Scott’s takeover and transformation of Maldon and Tiptree Football Club and its effect on the local community is nothing short of magical. And we are very grateful to them and everyone at the club for allowing us to tell the inside story “
Watch this space… as a date for the first episode will be released very soon!
